All You Need To Know About Jailbreak

For those of you who don’t already know jailbreak is the process of removing all restrictions imposed by Apple on devices running on the iOS operating system such as iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. The jailbreak procedure has evolved a lot since it first appeared; nowadays you can jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with just a few clicks away by installing the latest jailbreak tools that support your iOS version.  The main reason why people choose to jailbreak their iDevice is because they simply want complete freedom to customize it.

For example Apple doesn’t allow users to change themes on your iPhone. After the jailbreak process is complete you will automatically gain access to a 3rd party app store called Cydia. Here all the jailbreak apps get accepted and there are no restrictions. Cydia download store is pretty much like the App Store, only that here you will find most of the apps for free.

There are two kinds of jailbreak: tethered and untethered. The tethered jailbreak means that every time your iDevice runs out of battery life and it turns off you will need to boot it into the jailbreak state once more; in other words you will need to redo some of the jailbreak instructions each time it runs out of power. With the untethered jailbreak however you won’t encounter any of the problems above. Once you’ve jailbroken your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch untethered you are free to install whatever crosses your mind. However take notice that if you upgrade your iOS version the jailbreak state will disappear for good and you will have to wait for new jailbreak tools with support for the latest iOS version to emerge.

The latest iOS version officially released by Apple at the moment is iOS 5.1.1. Just recently jailbreak 6.0 tethered has become available for the general public as a result of Chronic Dev Team’s hard work.

Here is a full list of compatible iDevices for iOS 6.0 tethered jailbreak:

iPhone 3GS                iPhone 4                 iPhone 4S

    iPad 1                        iPad 2                     iPad (3rd gen)

iPod Touch 3G         iPod Touch 4G        Apple TV 2G

You can jailbreak 6.0 with a well-known jailbreak tool called Absinthe. For those of you who never heard of Absinthe jailbreak tool, it is a very simple GUI tool that allows users to insert the required files into their iDevice in order to benefit from the untethered iOS 6.0 jailbreak.  Follow our step by step set of instructions posted here in order to jailbreak untethered your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running on iOS 6.

How to Rearrange Home Screen Icons on Apple TV

We all know that Apple recently released the new Apple TV 3 with a new icon-centric interface. In the same time, the Apple TV Update 5.0 was released which brings the same all-new icon-centric interface on all 2nd generation Apple TV. This feature was something new, but in the same time, it was impossible to move or rearrange Home Screen icons on Apple TV. This may be quite annoying at one point when you really want to remove or to move to a different place all those icons you do not use or need.

The good news is that this option is now possible only with Apple TV Update 5.1 or also called the iOS 6. With the help of this update, you will be able to move Home Screen icons on Apple TV as you please. Following any criteria you want, you will be able to impose a little bit of personalization and customization over your favorite TV. Therefore, if you are each to find out how to rearrange Home Screen icons on Apple TV, this is the only way you should do it

As a first condition, your Apple TV must run on Apple TV Software 5.1 in order to achieve this option. A second thing I want to say is the fact that even with this major update, you are still now allowed to move the first row icons such as Movies, TV series, Music, Computer and Settings. This solution is destined for what comes next.

Therefore, here are the steps you need to follow to move one Home Screen icon:

Step 1: Select the icon you want to move.

Step 2: Press the Select button on your Apple remote until the icon starts to shake. This is when you are allowed to move the respective icon.

Step 3: Use the control arrows to move the icon the row you want to place it.

Step 4: now, as in step 2, press and hold the Select button on your remote and save this new position.

This is the whole procedure to rearrange Home Screen icons on your Apple TV. You repeat the process with any icon you want to move. In this way, you are able to customize the Home screen of your Apple TV, focus on the most used icons and place them in the main rows.

How To Fix Slow iOS 6 App Store Issue

With the new release of iOS 6, people who updated their devices suggest that they encountered problems when launching the App Store. There seems to be a sluggish performance problem when using the App Store. Even if some people blame the 3G and 4G LTE features for this problem, actually the problem is other thing. Apparently, the Genius for Apps feature used to provide location for some apps is responsible for this issue. The slow iOS 6 App Store issue appears only for the newer devices such as iPhone 5 and iPad 3 running on iOS 6.

We know that Apple developed the new update for the App Store with many new features and improvements. One of these improvements is the Genius for Apps feature. This arranges apps in a certain manner and allows them to use the location service. However, if you experience this problem on your new device, this is how to fix slow iOS 6 App Store issue. Follow these simple steps to solve your problem:

Step 1: Go to Settings and search the Privacy menu.

Step 2: Tap on Privacy and look down for the Location services.

Step 3: There, once you will find the System Services, tap on it.

Step 4: Find the Genius for Apps feature and turn it off.

Step 5: Press the home button to return to find the App Store in the “Recently used apps” menu. Tap and hold the App Store icon until a red button appears. This will waggle the app.

Launch the App Store again to see if there are any changes. Apparently, this solution was quite useful for many users who suggested a major improvement when they used the App Store. Disabling the Genius for App feature will fix the slow iOS 6 App Store issue and it will improve performance when using it. In the same time, it will help you to conserve the battery life for your device.  I want to mention the fact that this solution works just fine on any other iOS 6 running device, not only for iPhone 5 or for iPad 3. So, if you notice the same problem on your iPhone 4S running on iOS 6, do not hesitate to use the same procedure.

Fix Cellular Data Usage on iPhone 5 with Verizon Carrier [How to]

All Verizon iPhone 5 customers may now breathe relieved. The Cellular data usage on iPhone 5 with Verizon Carrier issue was finally fixed by Apple. For those of you who do not know what I am talking about, let me put you in touch. Apparently, some Verizon customers complained about the cellular data usage while the Wi-Fi feature was turned off. This happened during the Seep Mode and it was due to the tendency of iPhone 5 to turn Wi-Fi off in order to save power. This apparent benefit feature leads to other losses. The mobile bills increased after customers exceeded their Cellular data limits. Most certainly, many users still do not know that they are affected by this issue and they will do nothing in this respect. Apple already worked for an update to fix this issue as soon as possible. However, for those of you who are affected and you want to fix cellular data usage on iPhone 5 with Verizon carrier, this is how you should do it.

Step 1: Click on Settings menu. Tap on the General option and look down for the About option.

Step 2: Once you find it, tap it and wait until an Alter Window appears on the screen.

Step 3: Click OK button on the Alert Window to install the update required for fixing the Wi-Fi and the cellular data usage problem.

Step 4: Wait until the update is installed and then press the Power/Sleep button in order to turn your device off.

Step 5: After you wait several seconds with your device turned off, you may press the Power button again to turn it on. This will fix cellular data usage problem on your iPhone 5.

After you install the update and you turn your device on, go to Settings/General/About and search for the carrier option. See if Verizon 13.1 is displayed. If that is right, it means that the process was successful and you will use the cellular data option only when you want it.

However, for those of you who have already been quite affected by this problem, Verizon comes with excellent news. The company will compensate any loss suffered by each Wireless customer because of this cellular data issue and the unwarranted data usage will not be charged on the monthly phone bill.
